We lost our dog "Buddy" yesterday...UPDATED!

I woke up feeling so very sad this morning. Yesterday, our dog Buddy got out of the house, in a split second, when my step dad was home for lunch, and we can't find him. We've driven around everywhere, we've hung LOST DOG posters on every corner, and still our Buddy is not home with us.

John and I got Buddy when he was just 8 weeks old and we had only been married for 6 months. That meant that we got him in the middle of winter and I got to train him in the snow. I remember walking around our apartment complex at two in the morning saying (over and over and over again), "Go potty Buddy. Please, go potty!" And he would take his sweet old time but that's how he is, come to find out. He takes his sweet old time to do everything. But the person really missing Buddy is my mom. When John and I moved to CO from PA, years ago, we moved in with my mom for a couple of months. When it came time to leave, she asked to keep him. I couldn't believe it as she had never allowed for me to have a dog while growing up but she fell in love with Buddy so we let her keep him.

So, after having him a part of our family for five years, we feel his absence in our home and it's awful. I just hope he's okay.

UPDATED: We have found Buddy! He was just a few houses down from us. The two sweetest ladies had him and when they saw our posters they gave us a call. Thank goodness for kind people. We couldn't be happier!
